CEMEX is the cement market leader in Croatia. Its three cement plants serve predominantly the coastal, central, and northwest regions of the country. The company's ready-mix concrete facilities and aggregates quarry are located in the western part of the country. Extensive distribution channels enable the company to supply the market more effectively than competitors.
Cement is the most commonly used building material for housing construction and is popular for non-residential construction. Extensive infrastructure construction has driven the Croatian cement market's growth in recent years.
Approximately 40 percent of the company's cement sales volume is sold in bags through distributors, and the remainder is sold in bulk primarily to ready-mix concrete operators, which include industrial customers and construction companies.
We were the first company in the Croatian cement industry to establish a customer-consulting department, a significant competitive advantage. The company’s dispatch service has increased loading flexibility and shortened loading times.
The company has introduced technological improvements that have significantly reduced its energy costs and increased its profitability. The company’s cement plants are ISO certified 9001: 2000 and 14001.
