Our History

Latvia

CEMEX is the only cement producer and a leading producer and supplier of ready-mix concrete in Latvia.

User base

Cement is the nation's preferred construction material. Approximately 20 percent of the company’s cement volume is sold in bags through distributors and retailers, and the remainder is sold in bulk primarily to ready-mix concrete operators, including industrial customers and construction companies. The company’s ready-mix concrete customers range from big construction companies to individuals.

Value initiatives

To meet strong domestic demand, in 2006 we undertook construction of a new kiln at the Broceni cement plant, expanding its production capacity by 1.0 million tons per year. We completed this expansion during May 2009.
