The CEMEX Building Award

The award started in Mexico, however, since 2004 an International Edition is also held where countries like Germany, Australia, Austria, Bosnian & Herzegovina, Colombia, Costa Rica, Croatia, Egypt, United Arab Emirates, Spain, United States of America, Philippines, France, Guatemala, Haiti, Hungary, Ireland, Latvia, Malaysia, Montenegro, Nicaragua, Panama, Poland, Puerto Rico, United Kingdom, Czech Republic, Dominican Republic and Thailand have participated.

In Mexico there are 9 categories in which entries participate with an additional 4 special awards.

For all other countries, the international edition of the CEMEX Building Award offers 3 categories and 2 special awards.

Participating projects in Mexico and in the International Edition must use CEMEX products in at least 50% of the total of its construction. For Mexico the participant projects must be finished one year prior to the call for entries, and for the International Edition, the participant projects can be finished two year previous.

The winners of the award are announced in the prize giving ceremony, which is held each year in Monterrey, Mexico.

The CEMEX Building Award Book

The CEMEX Building Award book is released each year to showcase participants.

These publications are made every year and gather the best of architecture and construction. Their goal is to give a graphic testimony of the winning projects, the most outstanding works, and the talent of those who look to transcend through their creativity.
