CEMEX in the Dominican Republic is recognized by the United Nations

CEMEX in the Dominican Republic has been recognized at the 1st Business Summit of the UN’s Global Pact for its exceptional contribution in drafting the Communication for Progress, a document it presented last year as a signee.

Vanessa Read receives the recognition from John Gagain, Director of the Pact Network in Dominican Republic.

The Global Pact aims to be a guardian of good business practices in the Dominican Republic by fostering projects the four core values of human rights, labor standards, environmental stewardship and ethical business practices.

In addition to the recognition, CEMEX was included in the pact’s first global publication, titled “Solutions”. The book contains 10 business cases highlighting companies that have exemplified the pact’s values in an outstanding manner.

As part of the event, CEMEX President in the Dominican Republic, Carlos Jacks, participated in a panel discussion on human rights.

At a global level, CEMEX advances the well-being of those it serves through a relentless focus on continuous improvement and its efforts to promote a sustainable future.
