CEMEX in Colombia begins new era by reinforcing its commitment to provide world-class building solutions

CEMEX in Colombia has re-launched its brand as it completes its full transition from a provider of building materials to providing comprehensive building solutions that foster the well-being of the communities in which it operates. Guided by this change in vision, CEMEX in Colombia offers integrated and innovative solutions solving its customers’ needs, solutions based on the constructor, the distribution channel, and the industrial sector.

Among these solutions is a new Housing and Infrastructure Project Development area, a new business unit in Colombia which is expected to strengthen the company’s position in the market. They have also launched a new product portfolio under the CEMEX brand, and will introduce the following five uses: Generic, Maritime, Structural, High-endurance, and Architectural. These are complemented by a mortar and aggregates product portfolio.

The company is also breaking new ground by entering the debris management and aggregate trade businesses. On the retail side, CEMEX in Colombia expects to open many Construrama retail locations in the coming years. All these initiatives will maximize CEMEX’s sustained, profitable growth in Colombia, fueled by rising household consumption and a strong mining sector.

The new CEMEX in Colombia will also remain true to the company’s worldwide commitment to Sustainable Development. Among other sustainable, long-term and high-impact social projects, the company opened four new Patrimonio Hoy offices in 2012 and three more are expected by 2013. Three Bloqueras Solidarias also opened in 2012, and four new ones are planned for the following year. This support to the country’s growth and its citizen’s well-being will help CEMEX strengthen relations with local, regional, and national authorities.
