Alternative Raw Material
Another way in which we seek to reduce energy consumption in our cement operations is by using alternative cementitious materials to reduce the ratio of clinker to cement (clinker factor). For example, we are increasingly using fly ash, a by-product of coal-fired power stations, and blast furnace slag, a by-product of the steel industry to reduce the ratio of clinker to cement.
