Due to the retail nature of the Egyptian market, more than 85 percent of our cement sales volume is sold in bags. Through our commercial strategy, we are able to serve customers throughout the country more directly, without having to depend on traders or wholesalers. In 2008 the residential, tourism, and commercial construction sectors were the main drivers of cement consumption in the country.
Our commercial strategy is enabling us to strengthen our brand equity and bolster our customer loyalty nationwide. Since our entry into Egypt in 1999, we have established a strong presence in Cairo and the delta region, Egypt's main cement markets.
