Our ready-mix concrete - including our special self-compacting concrete, fiber-reinforced concrete, high strength concrete, flooring concrete, and filling concrete - is sold primarily to public, commercial, and residential contractors. Our aggregates provide the base material for all types of construction projects, either as an original material or as a component of ready-mix concrete, asphalt, or pre-cast concrete products. Our cement is sold mainly in bulk to ready-mix concrete, concrete block, and pre-cast product customers and contractors; our bagged cement is sold mostly to national builders' merchants.
To ensure the increased availability of more sustainable blended cements, we have built a new grinding and blending facility at the Port of Tilbury on the Thames river east of London. The new facility, which started operations during May 2009, has an annual capacity of approximately 1.2 million tons of cement.
